counting on ukgifthour power

Check the latest numbers that add up to the fact you can count on #UKGiftHourPower!

As you may know, UKGiftHourPower tracks sales made for UK indies and creatives during the weekend Twitter #shopindie marketplace #UKGiftHour #UKGiftAM.

9 – was the number of minutes it took for a beach bag from Isle of Wight recycled fashion designer SammDesigns to be sold after being posted, beating her previous personal best by three minutes. Yorkshire jewellery designer Twiggypeasticks also recorded a sale within 10 minutes of posting. But both still a little short of the overall record of seven minutes held by Lincolnshire multi-craft maestro Create-England

43 – was the number of face coverings that London homeless support collective Beanies Masato reported selling after their launch on UKGiftHour. Each face covering sold also means one going to homeless people. Up to the time of publishing this blog, it had increased further to 75 – just five short of their target of 80

1014 – the number of followers that the UKGIftHourPower account has on Twitter burst through the 1000 mark last week and has carried on rising

117 – is the total number of indies and creatives who have made sales through UKGiftHour UKGiftAM since it started. It has been boosted in the last couple of week by sales for London jewellery metalsmith I Love Dolly, ethereal Lancashire accessories designer SophiaStrangeGB, West Sussex glass and driftwood craftswoman OceanponyCrafts, East Sussex gifts emporium Nola Gifts UK (where 20% of profits are donated to help homeless people), nature-inspired artist WildBrambleHandmade, London textile artist facelessbilly and (pictured) Essex woodturner Nicholas Rowe.

For the month of August, we are UKGiftHour only from 9am-10am every Saturday and Sunday – we thought we’d give our hosting team a breather after all their #supportsmallbusiness heroics so far this year so UKGiftAM won’t be returning in full until Saturday 6 September.

But as you can see, we're still the #giftfinder that keeps on giving – count on us!
