eco gift ideas enterprise - part 2

Here’s part two of our #shopindie lookback at #ecogiftsday before it’s full steam ahead from tomorrow (22 Feb) for Mothers Day and Easter on #UKGiftHour #UKGiftAM.

If you recall, we asked UK indies and creatives to demonstrate their eco-friendly gift ideas and practices on Twitter and we were treated to an environmental fiesta.

You can see the first instalment of our review here. Taking the spotlight in part two are (clockwise from top left):

  • We unashamedly fell in love immediately with these packaging stickers from Shropshire photographer and artist CWPhotoArt imploring all customers to ‘recycle me please’. “Great to add onto your small biz packaging,” said Charlotte.
  • All the packaging used by spellbinding Dorset witch healers and sisters BohoBanshees is recycled and recyclable - “including the bath bomb shrink wrap!” they said. “All our product ingredients are organic and if not homegrown are ethically sourced. We also reuse and upcycle any bits we can.”
  • Reclaim, restore and recycle is the mantra of Dorset weaver Former Glory. She placed the ‘for sale soon’ sign on this fully restored pair of oak arts and crafts chairs “probably made by William Birch of High Wycombe late 19th century”.
  • East Sussex papercraft maestra Esselle Crafts is “proud to be a zero waste small business, promoting upcycling and sustainability to create gorgeous, unique gift ideas" – such as these instant download papercraft templates.
  • Nottingham jewellery designer ponyponyponyjewellery makes all her jewellery with recycled sterling silver. “It has all the same properties but less waste,” she said. “And is still equally shiny.”
  • York sewing and stitchwork queen Anita Rose Designs treated us to a display of cotton shopping bags, reusable make-up wipes and these ‘lovely to use’ eco-friendly nautical napkins.

If you’re on Twitter and you’d like to see a full list of the indies and creatives who provided #ecogiftsday gift inspiration, you can find it here.
