eco gift ideas enterprise - part 1

So much #ecogiftsday enterprise on #UKGiftAM last weekend that we’re splitting our review into parts.

We asked UK indies and creatives to demonstrate their eco-friendly gift ideas and practices on Twitter and we were treated to something of an environmental epiphany.

Here we highlight (clockwise from top left):

  • Unique dolls with attitudes from Sheffield recycler extraordinaire DollsWithAttitudes. “All my dolls are made completely from #plasticfree #recycled fabrics,” said creative Jane Blake.
  • Zero waste pendant from Wirral polymer clay artist IndigoCreate. “When I make a galaxy veneer for my silhouettes I sometimes have some clay left over,” said Jen Shelton. “Instead of throwing it, I use it in these pendants.”
  • Lampshade made with reclaimed and recycled coffee sacks from Aberdeen #ethical venture and social enterprise Highland Wolf. “Almost everything we sell is handmade using reclaimed and recycled materials. All of our suppliers are small makers, crafters and businesses.”
  • Range of natural, handmade, vegan and cruelty free skincare products from Loughborough hypoallergenic cleaning and personal care hub The Cleaning Cabinet. “We partner with like-minded small businesses to bring top-notch eco alternatives.”
  • And ending this review on a high note, as it were, an exclusive music pendant made from vintage sheet music by Wiltshire creator of quirky, upcycled gifts and goodies MooseintheMint.
