powering up #shopindie

There are a couple of #shopindie factors that can’t be denied. . . the weekend Twitter marketplace #UKGiftHour has got power and the buyers and sellers who take part have got taste! Here’s the latest rundown of original and thoughtful #giftideas that have been snapped up from our UK indie and creatives during the three-hour Saturday morning and Sunday morning showcase.

Clockwise (from top left):

1. White ‘full fog’ quartz oval pendant wrapped in silver wire by Southampton jewellery designer Oi Shiny

2. Leaf patterned cork wrap journal by Cambridge bookbinder and designer Craftedbooksbysueday. “I sold this just after #UKGiftHour #UKGiftAM,” Sue tweeted, “so I think the #UKGiftHourPower magic is definitely working.”

3. Dichroic glass pendant with ripples of blue on silver by Peterborough contemporary glass artist Samphireglass

4. Citrine gemstone necklace by Glasgow jewellery designer Chalso Jewellery. She told her #UKGiftHour customer: “Just heard the cha-ching, thank you very much for the order!”

5. Adventure journal and stencil set – a #shopindie collaboration between Nottinghamshire craft house Spratts Designs and South Wales outdoor gift specialists Adventure Accessories

6. Frosted bead earrings by Yorkshire jewellery designer TwiggyPeasticks

7. Eco friendly ‘Bluebell Wood’ greeting card printed on recycled paper by Reading artist DaisyWings

8. Silver and enamel earrings in olive green by East Sussex jewellery designer MaisyPlum

9. Centre - Faux succulent planter with dachshund design by Norwich ceramic artist Hazlehurst Ceramics

Isle of Wight recycled fashion designer Samm Designs was also good enough to report during our recent #ecogiftsday – one of many special hashtag themes we run during the year: “#UKGiftHour you have worked your magic again, just had an Etsy kerching!”

If you're selling or looking for gift ideas- or just like to spend time in fun and supportive company - there's always a welcome and plenty of inspiration at #UKGiftHour #UKGiftAM from 9am-midday every Saturday and Sunday.
